Clutch Fork Help

A quick question. I'm converting to a standard on my 72 GMC and think I have all the parts. I'd know this had I taken the SM465 out of the donor truck but it was already out. I've been researching and need the answer to this question. When I google clutch fork this clip comes up in images. The clutch fork I have has a retention spring on it and the researching has confused me somewhat. I don't believe this is part of the clutch fork set up on my truck but can someone who has taken one apart confirm I do not need this retention spring?

Thanks

Re: Clutch Fork Help

I have an Sm465 with manual clutch, and all associated stuff, never saw one of those that I can remember. If you need it, maybe I do too and don't even know it.
