'72 Chevy C20, cracked wheel?

Hi guys,

While driving my '72 Chevy C20 today, I noticed a crack in the right front wheel. Is there anything I can buy to "fill" the crack, or do I have to buy a new wheel? Is this something to be worried about?

I am not sure about the size, the tires say 9.50r16.5lt. If I do need to buy new wheels, any tips/locations for buying one? I live near Los Angeles, CA, zip code 91042.

I think that is a seam in the wheel band process, you can also see it thru the window in your spoke , I imagine it goes from one side to the other , the cheaper wheelsroll ther band and weld a hub or wagon wheel spoke assy to the band , I would almost bet your others have similar marks

Yep, looks like it could be a seam. If it is in fact a crack replace the wheel.

Appears you have tubeless tires, in that area of the wheel a crack will leak air. Use a soapy water solution to check for leaks.

If it were my wheel and leaked air I would immediately replace the wheel to prevent failure. An air leak in a wheel indicates imminent wheel failure.

Both LKQ Pick-A-Part and Adlen Brothers Pick-Your-Part in Sun Valley are a source for used wheels. There are also vendors in the parking lots in both locations that have wheels and tires. These vendors usually get an early pick on all the used wheels and tires when they are set in the yard and would know which used wheels are serviceable and safe to sell. Those would be the wheels they have for sale.

Are those vendors there 7 days a week? Will they be able to change the wheel also or I have to go elsewhere?

Awesome, thanks. But I am not sure of the size of the wheel. That's the part I am confused. I know it's a 16.5 tire, but what about the offset of the wheel?

Yes, they are there pretty much open every day I believe. Every time I go to those yards the tire shops are open for business. They do have the ability to do all tire service work.
