Re: pulling 292 need help asap
You can only lift the engine about 2 inches without having to unbolt the rear mounts. Also you have to bring the number 1 cylinder to TDC so the front of the pan will clear the crank and connecting rod. Talk with Sharps40(Rich)..he'll be able to tell ya quite a bit on the subject. By the way..did you call?

Re: pulling 292 need help asap
If the front and rear mounts are disconnected, there shouldn't be anything but clutch linkage that could hold you up.

Re: pulling 292 need help asap
they all go back in relatively easy if one knows what they are doing. look at it ; realize how it goes together; what sort of shape are the mounts in. are the collapsed or falling apart and you are putting them back in that way. collapsed mounts change the relationship on how the thing bolts together if you have the engine weight sitting on the mount. the height of a new insulator will change the angle of the bolt in relation ship to the hole in the b/housing

Re: pulling 292 need help asap
on all of your mounts just have the bolts in by finger , don't tighten until you have them all started so if you have to adj the engine a hair , you can. rear mounts just have the bellhousing close without weight on the insulator so the if you have to move the engine a bit , so it is easy to do. do not tighten one side and then try and install the other side. start the bolts in the frt mounts first
