Parts questions
When I bought my 64 C10 it had 16.5" 6 lug wheels. I upgraded to 15" wheels and have the old ones kicking around. Before I throw these things away, are they of any value? I would hate to throw away the "holy grail" of stock wheels if somebody wanted them. If somebody wanted to pay the shipping they could have them....I'm not selling them, I'm giving them away.
I bought an aluminum grille for my 64. It came with the radiator support, headlight assys and upper/lower grille surrounds. The grille is pretty straight. I paid 80.00 for all mentioned. Did I do ok? I thought those grilles were kinda high dollar. Regardless it will go great on my 64!

Re: Parts questions
You did great on those parts! Save those 16.5" rims, there will be someone who wants them eventually. There is always someone doing a factory original build and that is your target market for them.

Re: Parts questions
You did very good on the grill deal. I bought my aluminum grill with nothing on it for $100.00 and paid shipping on top of it. The parts are out there if you are patient, you will get the deal you are looking for. As far as the 16.5's, if I had a need for them, they would be marked as sold.
Good luck and most of all, have fun, Tom

Re: Parts questions
Cool! It's always nice to know you scored. He was a cool old guy (even compared to my old butt!!) and I even paid more than he was asking. It was well worth the few $ bs'n with a fellow gearhead.
I don't know how long the wheels can sit there. Is there a free section? I'm not a member so I don't think I can list in the classifieds.

Re: Parts questions
I put mine on Craigslist for free, didn't have the space at the time to keep them. A guy who was building a mud racing truck came and got them. I don't know if they are desirable in that world for some reason, but it was only two days and they were gone.

Re: Parts questions
The 16.5" tires are being phased out and are getting harder to find all the time. You can still get several styles of offroad tires, but the 16.5's are horrible for holding the bead at low air pressures.

Re: Parts questions
Check around your local family farming community. I ran my ma's old 97 jimmy tires on an old John deere hay rake and to my knowledge some equipment runs specific 6 lug applications. That is if you can't find someone that has a use for them. Farm implement tires normally run those oddball size rims too just a bug to keep in the back of your head.
