Rear gears 3/4 ton

Just picked up a 3/4 ton 71 gmc burb with a 307 and a powerglide trans. Anyone know if the rear end would be a 4:10 as standard with that combo? Nothing listed in the glovebox other than no-spin.
Thanks for any help.

Re: Rear gears 3/4 ton

Jack up one tire and count driveline rotations per wheel rotation. That will get you close. Otherwise, look for a tag on a cover bolt or remove the cover, count the teeth and do the math.

Re: Rear gears 3/4 ton

On a 71 Chevy Suburban C20 with 307/M35 it would be a 4.57 axle ratio as standard. Gee $32 more and they could have had a TH350, too bad.

The same ratio was used in 71 Chevy C20 pickups as well with the 307/M35, 4.57 or 4.56 with leaf springs (dana axle).

Thanks tim, i kind of thought with the powerglide it may have a different standard ratio. I will get a pic of the spid for you also. I think it has paint listed 3 times...
