No the caulk like stuff is a stand alone harmonic dampener used in newer vehicles. Forget about that. Just use the one that is like dynamat. Peel the paper and ally the adhesive side to the steel. You need a industrial auto upholstery glue if you want to make the carpet adhere to the sound deadener.
