Re: 91' 454 SS AC compressor

It's now AC Delco compressors, not Harrison anymore. ( I got one a short while ago, from Parts Plus - new Delco part) _ _ _ the compressor bolt holes have threads at the back side of bolt holes IN COMPRESSOR ( for later model truck mounting)... I had to hone out ONE OF the threads in an upper hole, to allow the 5" bolt to easily get to the hole in the head. ( I used a masonry drill bit to eat up the threads )

Our compressors bolt straight through the compressor into the engine holes.

They come with out compressor oil..... lay it on the side ...about 6 ounces.

Be sure you get the new current Compressor high pressure switch ( mounts on compressor.... you will have to change the harness plug to it ( easy )...

Old one may be a single wire.... new one is 2-wire.... run ground to thermostat mount nut. (easy)

Also the newer charging fittings on the supply hoses ( easy)

hey mountie thanks, I would have likely forgot about the oil and assumed it was already in there. I just ordered a 3090927(fingers crossed) from truckers ac, found them on the internet, we will see what comes in. The description actually said Harrison

Re: 91' 454 SS AC compressor

Your local QUALIFIED A/C guy will know how much more oil besides what is put into the compressor. I was told NOT to ad oil into the condenser, etc. ( even though the directions for a replacement system suggests it )

The added required oil can pollute the freon supply. The A/C guy knows the correct freon / oil by checking pressure.....

( I am fumbling on this info..... I'm not an A/C guy... so, they'll know this stuff)

My A/C is blowing less than 45 degrees, !!
