Re: transmission cooling

I would strongly recommend it. The auto makers all have tranny coolers built into the radiators for a reason. Heat kills transmissions. Besides, it allows you to run a larger volume of fluid which helps with cooling too.

Re: transmission cooling

Why don't you want to connect the lines? Missing lines? Radiator doesn't have a built in cooler?

A lot of people in the warmer states add an additional transmisison cooler besides running the one in the radiator. Being in Long Beach, I would not plug or bypass your factory cooler....

Re: transmission cooling

Don't plug them. Some transmissions send all fluid through lines, so if you plug them, you may kill the transmission.

If you just need to test the transmission you could connect them together, but definitely get a cooler in there unless you like rebuilding transmissions.

Re: transmission cooling

yes, missing cooling lines.
And didn't realize my new radiator had the connections for the lines.

I will order the lines and hook them up.
