My guess , and I'm not an expert by any means. I think its for your shifter. The PRNDL part.

I think your band broke , is there spot welding on that piece , is the other half of your band match it

Re: Need help identifying part found in transmission pan th350 2wd. Thanks
I had a friend look at it and he said he thought it was part of the park deal where if you shift to park will still rolling you hear that click click click so on and so forth. But he wasnt real sure. Transmission is gonna get beat hard at the track and not sure how many passes are already on it but I was hoping to put a few more passes on it. But if its something I need to fix first it would be nice to know. Thanks for your guess btw. Im no expert either lol.

Pan was rather dented. And filter looked like it was sitting on bottom of dented pan didnt know if it could be part of an old dipstip or filter?

No idea, just noticed you were from Sioux Falls and thought I'd say hi.

Transmission does function reverse and all forward gears. Although Ive only went around the block so far. Trying to get it sealed up so not leaking at the track when I found this.

Looks like a piece of your overspeed band. It's definitely not your park pawl. If I remember correctly the band gives you engine braking when you back off the throttle. Either way, you're due for a rebuild. They aren't bad to do. I ponied up for some bushing drivers years ago that paid for themselves on my first rebuild.

It's part of the clip that holds the speedo gear on the output shaft.
