Brake booster vacuum
is it ok to run vacuum from rear of carb for brake booster?

only if it is on the carb base - it must be a steady vacuum signal, not ported, regardless of truck rpm. That is why the factory used the intake manifold port location primarily.

If your carb has the large fitting at the rear of the base, yes that's good. Q Jets used that location with a large screw in flare fitting for a hard line to the booster.
