Steering shaft boot
My quest to find a steering shaft boot has failed so far. I discussed this with Wes Hepp, Classic Heartbeat Pickup Parts, briefly and he has not seen these either. He said he can reproduce this part if he can find an undamaged one. I can't be the only one that needs one. So, I'll ask again, does anyone have a boot in very good condition I can use for my resto? I would also like to find a very good one that possibly Wes can use for reproduction purposes? I'll give Wes the best one I can find. Thanks, Lee

Re: Steering shaft boot
I would bet these are the same since it is all just saginaw steering parts. The shaft coupler looks the same as the one on my chevelle which is the same as the one on my GTO. You can get a shiny new retainer too.

Re: Steering shaft boot
Follow up. The link for the part webfoot provided is the correct boot and retainer. The eBay store is actually Inline Tube's store. Thanks agian to webfoot. Lee

Re: Steering shaft boot
I purchased the boot to rebuilt my joint. It worked perfect. Glass beaded all the parts and painted them prior to assembly. Here is a completed pic.

Re: Steering shaft boot
As you can see I scratched them up during assembly I had to fight the inner clamp getting it back on the boot. I suggest wrapping the whole thing in masking tape for anybody else who does this.

Re: Steering shaft boot
It was tough but not that bad really. If I had a vice to hold the shaft while putting in the ring it would be a piece of cake.
