Wheel stud question

Not sure if this goes in this section but here it goes anyways.
I broke off two wheel studs off my front driver side.
I went to auto zone and oreially two buy replacements and both of those are a little different than the original I have.
Is that ok. Can I put on a slightly different wheel stud than the original?
I ll post some pics tomm if that helps.

Funny thing auto zone and orailly where both different and both places assured me that theirs was the "right one." Hahaaa

Re: Wheel stud question

ou can get away with a great deal but think I would pop a good one out and take it to NAPA and make sure the replacements are identical.

Re: Wheel stud question

If it's slightly different appearing but the threads are the same size, and you can use the same lug nuts you have, no big deal. But these are pretty easy to get in the right size, and I would special order if needed, and wait a day or two so I didn't have to deal with different lug nuts forever. That would drive me nuts.

Re: Wheel stud question

Was told at the local auto parts shop that it was ok. That they would work just fine.
They're same size threads only a little longer groves. And a little thicker, not much though very little. They seem to go in just fine. Haven't drove on them. My lower ball joint broke. Need to fix that first.
