Blower Motor Replacement

The blower motor in my '72 Burb lost high speed so I figured I would replace it. Should have looked at the forum first because it appears that the high speed relay is actually the problem. Now I have a new motor and the old one almost out, and now it has become a challenge. Am I missing something, or do you have to remove the hood hinge to get the motor out/in. I replaced the blower in my grand prix in about 15 minutes. The one in my Burb is killing me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If I remember right you need to remove the hood hinge .

You don't have to remove the whole hinge, just the bolts on the inner fender. Be sure and put a folded heavy towel or other soft padding between the hood and cowl panel/fender. Also mark around the hinge with a fine felt tip marker before you remove the bolts so you can get it back in the exact same place before you tighten the bolts back up.... You can block the hood up with a piece of wood or something similar while you do this, but I would have a helper hold the hood in place while you tighten the bolts up.

I was thinking what kind of blower motor has high speed? Only one I could think of was the blower on Mad Max's car. Yes, I finally figured I out =)
