Tie rod question
I have a 66 c10. I'm replacing everything under the front of the truck with moog parts. I have the tie rod assembly apart and for got to mark anything. I also took the parts out of the boxes without marking anything. Woops! I have no idea which ones are the inner and outer tie rods and what way the drag link goes on. With the tie rods they all look the same so I was wondering if if matters what way they go on. If I have to I can get new ones and use them and just take back the new ones I have that way I know I have the right ones on the correct sides.

Re: Tie rod question
The tie rod ends are pretty straight forward if you look closely at them. The location of the grease zerk is the main clue. The two that have the grease zerks come into the iron body near the boot are the inners. The outers have the grease zerk coming into the center cap right in the middle of the joint, no where near the boot.
Once you've separated them as to inners and outers, you're left with screwing them into the adjuster sleeves. This is also straightforward as one has left hand threads and the other has right. So, you take an inner tie rod end and screw it into the adjuster sleeve. Then grab an outer and screw into the other end of the adjuster sleeve. Put it aside and repeat for the other one.

Re: Tie rod question
Well somehow I ended up with 3 ends and all three have the grease fitting in the middle of the bottom of the tie rod end. Looks like a trip to the parts store is in order. I didn't even notice how the inners have the fitting in the body. That helps a lot! Thanx!
