Re: gas filler hose

I don't know the answer, but I have seen non-fuel rated hose that has come into contact with fuel, swell up. I would get a measurement and go by one of the auto parts stores and see if they have something that will work.

This site has by the inch:

Re: gas filler hose

No you must use hose rated for fuel.
Otherwise the fuel vapours will deteriorate the rubber and it will come apart and get in your tank.

Re: gas filler hose

It has to be fuel rated. I think your average fuel lines/hoses have a thread mesh embedded into the rubber to prevent it from expanding too much. Like 71GMCEWAN said, it will deteriorate and fall apart.

Also, the only dumb question is the one not asked. That question had the ability to be very dangerous had you not asked it.

Re: gas filler hose

My local parts supply store has bulk fuel tank filler line (that's what it's called) in 2 or 3 different sizes.
You can buy it by the foot.

Re: gas filler hose

I got a deal on mine on eBay for around $12. I have the side mount fill on my tank I bought from CPP in '06. Says "73-7p P/U Filler Neck Hose" Part #00343106

Hope that helps.

Mike
