My New 77 Custom 10 Shortie (All Original)

So I've been in love with these old short beds as far back as I can remember, and I've always loved them in their original state. I've had many 68-72's but this is my first square body and I love it.

This was actually up on the auction site and I went to check it out in person and was able to make a deal with the Original Owner.

All original pain, 3 minor dents on the truck, does have some dings and scratches here and there but overall a very nice Original truck

99.5% Rust free

79K Original Miles with all the original paper work

It's a plain jane truck, 6 cylinder, power brakes, manual steering
250 6 cylinder with a 4 speed on the floor

My favorite thing about here is the original "Hawaiian" Vinyl seat

Anywho... plan is to get a 4/6 drop on here Monday, but the nasty pipe tips off, color sand and buff her out and cruise her around to the local swap meets as is.

She runs like a dream

Re: My New 77 Custom 10 Shortie (All Original)

The original owner had about 3K receipts as well, new bearings, bushings, radiator, shocks, carb... List goes on forever, but I'm glad she's already road worthy

That is a nice looker, and do not get much simpler then that.

How do you like the smaller mirrors when driving?

Re: My New 77 Custom 10 Shortie (All Original)

Great looking truck! I have it's younger brother. Mine is an 80 I bought from the second owner. Had just over 59k when I bought it with a 305 and an auto. I've got it lowered 5 in the front and a flip kit in the back. I just finished up an ls swap and front end rebuild and the truck is a dream to drive! Nice find!

Thank you all for the kind words. I'm sure she'll look much better with the drop on Monday.

Mopar250, have any pics of yours?

Re: My New 77 Custom 10 Shortie (All Original)

Congrats on that truck! I saw it on the auction site myself, I saved the pics of it. I love the Hawaiian Blue. My 78 Silverado is Hawaiian Blue and white, I always wanted to see a full Hawaiian blue truck without trim or two tone. I hope you are keeping the six cylinder. I love how it is a basic truck, if mine I would leave it that way. Again, congratulations on it.

Re: My New 77 Custom 10 Shortie (All Original)

HipToBeSquared,

Ya, Just something about it says "Older than I am" it just catches my eye as an older late 60's early 70's truck because of the color. I'm keeping her ALL original, only thing I just had done was a drop 4/5. Other than that just a nice lean and cruising her... I think this one will stick with me for some while, if not forever. Just too clean a truck to tamper with

Re: My New 77 Custom 10 Shortie (All Original)

Ok, lets see how this goes I've never really played with posting pics yet. This is my 80 that now has a 5.3 LS swap and a turbo 400. The rear has a flip kit and the front is 2.5 spindles and I cut a coil cut out. I love the way it looks and it rides better than it ever did before. I will soon do an LS swap thread and a build thread on it. I love when people do those because it answers so many questions and they are great when you plan what works and how things look when they are done.

Mopar250,

Looks great man! If I didn't know any better, I'd say that was my truck minus the tires lol. Looking forward to watching your build! Something about that blue on our trucks just has me hooked!
