More parts for me
Well guys, I got a 68 1 ton shortbed flatbed dually couple months ago for $230 from an auction. I have been looking for good front fenders for it ever since I got it. Found a lot in local salvage yards near me, but they were rusted in the typical locations and the yards want way to much for each fender. Well after giving up and deciding I should just buy new ones, long be hold, 2 front fenders popped up on CL for a 68. The guy had about 5 ads up for them and each ad had different prices. So I called the guy up and asked the normal questions to get more info about them and which ad had the correct price. Come to find out, he bought them from LMC about 10 yrs ago and they have never been mounted on anything. So, not only are they brand spanken new still after 10 yrs, but get this......I bought them for $150 for the pair. I still can't believe the luck that I have been having lately. I guess good karma is finally coming my way. Just thought I'd share.

Good deal! There are some good buys out there if a guy keeps looking. That should make things a little easier for you. Just be sure and bolt everything up for a test fit before you paint anything. Sometimes you have to enlarge a bolt hole here and there or tweek them a little to get a good fit.... LockDoc

If you don't put some paint or epoxy primer on the new sheet metal it will start rusting pretty quickly.... LockDoc
