Window adhesive
What adhesive do you use to attach the window into the channel in the door. I bought new weatherstripping from GMC Paul's and I do not know what type of adhesive or what treatment you use to glue the window into the channel. Any help you can give in this matter will be greatly appreciated.

After I gave up on the little rubber strip I grabbed some Permatex out of my toolbox and gave it light bead in the channel. Five years and no troubles. I did use a scitchbrite pad on the track and the bottom of the glass.

Glass setting tape. The truck Shop in Orange carries it. A glass shop would have it as well.

If you're asking about the vent window, those are much easier to install with the tape if you have the assembly out of the door. Open the vent, set the curve of the channel on a towel while kind of holding the glass in place with the tape in place, then work it in with a soft face dead blow mallet......gently, but firmly.

I've had the best luck splitting the tape in two pieces for the vertical and horizontal channels. Tested with water sitting in the corner and it doesn't pass through. The glue is best for the side window and not the vent window but I've used glass setting tape on both with great results.
