1963chevyc20, don't let them get to you. You WILL get hurt, you WILL learn, and you WILL have fun. Keep on truckin, but I do recommend saving up for a manual. You're right, they aren't cheap ($50.00 usually) but they are worth it when you can't get help online or things aren't immediately clear. Except for hubs. They stink for hub repair...Anyway... Passion and the sense to ask for help - That's all you really need. These trucks aren't rocket surgery Maybe start a build thread so people can follow along?

Re: more issues!!
Your absolutly right. I just got that much older today. Ah my glory days , now I'm just some funny old guy with an attitude. But my pants are up where they should be. Only my washing machine knows what kind of underwear I sport. I use capitals and commas as not to have my sentences run on to long. That dot is what we called a period by the way. It's official, I'm over the hill now. Ha Ha Ha!

Re: more issues!!
Many times a front seal is leaking. The seal has worn a groove into the harmonic balancer. They make a sleeve called a wear ring that can be installed on the balancer. some times oil leaks that are persistaint are caused by worn internals. excess blow by from compression leaking past the piston & rings. Creates too much crankcase pressure for gaskets & seals to hold.
