Q-Jet trouble and solution
Ever had the secondaries stick open? I fought with my Q-Jet almost all day before I figured it out. The top secondary butterflies would open with full throttle, but then then they would stick and flood the engine. It turns out there's a plug at the end of the shaft (opposite from the tension spring) that was pushed in to far and binding the against the end of the shaft.
A gentile tap with a hammer on the other end of the shaft solved the problem.

Interesting!
You got a pic of this plug. Never ran into that before but I've had the spring break. |

Re: Q-Jet trouble and solution
My camera isn't working. But if you look on the Left (drivers) side of the carb at the end of the secondary shaft you'll see a plug in the air horn casting in line with the shaft. If it's pushed in to far it will bind on the end of the shaft. It took me all day to figure it out. lol

Re: Q-Jet trouble and solution
I checked some links and I see what you're talking about. Must have been a locating hole when they machined the top plate. Plugged to keep dirt away from the shaft.
