Steering column help

The previous owner of my 1964 c10 truck used duct tape to secure the long steering column tube to the cup that holds the turn signal assembly. At the end of the tube are three ears that I'm assuming slide in and twist to connect the tube to the cup. However, my cup does not have any slots to accept the ears......hence the reason for the duct tape?? I found another cup, but it does not have the hole for the emergency flasher knob. Can someone take a look and give me some directions on what piece(s) I'm missing?

Re: Steering column help

ok the black thing with the flasher isnt correct, second the cup with slots should slide on the other white piece and the center shaft twist at the bottom thru the bottom white piece maybe ur center shaft is too short of you havent brought it up high enough or its the wrong center shaft? then the rod with the rag joint slides thru all of it attaching the steering wheel and down to the gearbox

Re: Steering column help

I found a splice in the turn signal wiring harness so I'm assuming the cup and turn signal harness are from a later model C10 that the previous owner installed. I'll see if I can get the turn signal switch to fit into the white cup.....I'll just have to figure out how to elimate the flasher knob.

Re: Steering column help

The white cup is correct. These trucks had underdash mounted hazard lights...they were never mounted on the columns.
