Wasted afternoon yesterday.

I bought a 98 step last year but hadn't had a reason to hook on my trailer with it. The neighbor needed a car hauled home so I said "road Trip".
Well after hooking up the lights ,it has a factory tow package ,I found out nothing on the trailer worked.Back to the garage, jacked up the back and started looking at wiring. Fuses blown up front and a mess in the back.
The person who invented Scotch-locks for wire add on should be shot. The person that installed them cut the wires to the round factory plug and then tried to add on two wires to each for a flat four plug and the factory plug.
He used all white wire, rolls of electrical tape and wire ties.
Decided to try and fix it right so ran to U-pull-it and pulled the rear loom and plugs off a Tahoe.
There are a few things I don't allow in my garage. One is Armorall, another is a chop saw,Thread Tape is another and now I can add Scotch locks.
They have replaced the Radio in this truck also ,now i'm scared as I wanted to put a factory style back in it. What am I going to run into?
The good part is it handled the tow fine but wasted the whole Sunday afternoon fixing the mess.
How was your weekend?
