the "quick" 67 build
Well today I got another order from LMC, It came on a tractor trailer and it was like Christmas again.. boxes and packaging material everywhere. All of this fun inspired me to start a build thread on here. Its been 5 years since I started my project which I started at 20 (so young and dumb haha) hoping to get it done in time for the OC cruisin, and of course it still isn't done. I have made some progress though, and I'll post some pictures to show where I am now, any tips would be great if you have any to offer..It has been a learning experience to say the least.
I don't have any beginning pictures on my laptop but hopefully I will find them and post them soon along with some better ones of where it stands now.

Thanks guys! I guess I should provide a little more information on the project.
I bought the truck for $100 from a friend who was the second owner, the truck had been sitting in the woods for 8-10 years (near the beach) and it showed it. Between the rust and having apparently been in an accident at some point in its life I've certainly had my hands full. Whats been done: -I have installed a 2/4 drop from Early Classic -was a stepside bed, I don't have the ability to salvage something that bad off so I took the 8 hour ride to TN and bought a fleetside for it -new 2" cowl hood, new radiator support, new cab corners, new rockers -a whole lot of sanding/wire brushing -undercoated the frame (I think I will rustoleum it next) Bought and waiting to be installed: -Painless wiring harness -stainless brake lines -fuel tank relocation kit -new chrome bumpers (I always like when I get chrome parts in the mail) -new door -new bedside Waiting in limbo -350 single piece rear main, has .194 heads, 274 cam, holley 600, performer intake -400 turbo trans |

Well here is a picture from about 2 years ago when the truck was in almost one piece. I think this picture was right after I was fitting the new bed and I was testing out a new paint gun with some primer. It was before the cowl hood

With hopes of swapping the motor out in the near future, here is kind of a before picture. (a lot of these pictures are going to be close up.. I am working on the truck in a tent in my back yard)
 Here is another picture that shows the shaved drip rails, Let me know what you think..Its kind of an amatuer effort, but it took a week or so of work with a torch and coat hanger since my welder was broke..hopefully it holds up

I haven't posted for a long time, but I have made some progress. The recent OC car show has made me want to document a little more of my work since I have tremendous amounts of respect for the time and work people put into their cars down there.
The engine is finally in (hopefully it runs correctly, I've never built one before)  I painted the firewall blue and didn't like it so it's black primer again. |
