Re: Tell me what you think - Wheels
Well, after a lot of thought and input from you guys, I think I'm going to go with the rally wheels. I'm going to go against the flow and use the centers from the slots and put on some long chrome lug nuts. I need to blast and paint, but I'm about 99% on the original argent silver. Still undecided on trim rings, but I like the narrower (not corvette) beauty rings that show a lot of the wheel. I have some work ahead of me, but I will be sure to post some pics when I'm done. Thanks to everyone for sharing! Oh, and for those who like the slots, I'm going to keep them for now just in case! :-)

Re: Tell me what you think - Wheels
Blasted, primed, painted, and installed! I'm pretty happy with how they turned out. I went a little out on my own for the centers and lug nuts. Still not sold on the trim rings yet. Here's how it looks like today - in need of a serious clean up, but the garage hose is frozen :-(

Re: Tell me what you think - Wheels
Thanks everyone! Those are American racing caps that I came across when I bought tires. They fit perfectly after some minor hammering on the fronts to make them more domed. Just used some $.60 chrome lug nuts and called it done. :-)

Re: Tell me what you think - Wheels
Thanks, I have been wondering if an aftermarket cap would fit in the center hole of a 6 lug rally wheel. Give them a totally different and cool look.

Re: Tell me what you think - Wheels
Haha! Thanks. Tank is under the bed now. Thought the rag matches the personality of the truck more than the chrome cap.

Re: Tell me what you think - Wheels
Ha! I love the red-rag... once I get my tank moved to the back I might have to do that with the original filler hole.
Looks great! |

Re: Tell me what you think - Wheels
That rag makes me want to weld the filler tube back on!

Re: Tell me what you think - Wheels
Thanks! I got a $3 plug at OReilly auto parts, the kind that has a fat rubber piece that expands when you tighten the bolt, to seal the filler tube. Just added a fat washer to keep the rag from falling out. :-)
