wire looms
Need help with plug wire looms.
Got a 68 307 with the stock valve covers and exhaust manifolds. I bought the accel wire looms (http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...22&prmenbr=361) but they wont fit because the the manifolds rise up from the exhaust ports. Any ideas or options?

Those are designed for use with headers. I'm assuming that you have ramhorns?

Never heard them call ram horns but now that you say it thats exactly what they look like! Maybe one day I can afford the headers and will mount the ram horns on the wall in the garage.

I used new wires with the straight boots...
They went out far enought for clearance and plenty of wire length.....

How do I organize them though so they dont look like a bird nest as they go over the valve covers? My neighbor says thats what coat hangers were made for.....

do one wire at a time and work from the back of the towards the front.

You might try getting some steel pipe and cutting 4 spacers to use between the valve cover and the loom (2 per side). You would need longer bolts, but you might be able to make it work.

That is a good idea with wire ties.....
Think I would put the cut section on the bottom side to keep form getting cut on and for looks........

If you have an HEI and rams horns, get plug wires for a 75 vette application. They are long enough to route properly behind the block, along the frame rail, and up under the ramhorn manifold.

wire looms
I had bought some wire looms that were intended to bolt onto the valve cover bolts. Ended up buying some spacers and longer bolts to clear the manifolds and still looks really good. That being said, I'm going to convert it back to stock routing with the vette HEI wires mentioned above. Nothing looks as clean as the stock routing and works better to protect the wires. Wouldn't want to think about downgrading my ram horns to headers either but that's just me.
