Re: where to find build sheets?

I've seen people find them in the coil mesh of the back of the bench seat. Mine was not there, couldn't find one.

Re: where to find build sheets?

They were supposed to be thrown away, but it was usually just easier to leave them in place and build the truck up around it.

As mentioned, the seats are a good place to look. Also under the carpet, behind any interior trim (if any), under the dash, etc. Passenger cars often have them above the fuel tank but it varyies by model year, assembly plant and even by shift within the same assembly plant.

Re: where to find build sheets?

If I were to contact chevy with the vin, do they still have the build on file? Seems like a dumb question....anyone ever try?

Re: where to find build sheets?

nope. But, make sure to check both the seat back and bottom - use a little mirror to stick back there - should be visible if it is in fact there. Mine had TWO build sheets on it when I took it apart. One on the back and one on the bottom. And neither one matched the truck... Ha. Someone replaced the seat with parts from two different trucks
