68 C-10 headers
Hi, my names Andrew I am a fairly new member to the forum and I don't post often. I have seen other members talk about headers and was wondering what would drop right into my fathers 68 c-10. It has a 350 which replaced the factory 307 and the factory 3 speed column shift. Any suggestions on the best set-up for this application would be greatly appreciated

I don't know much about headers, but what I have read is you want the thickest flange you can find. Headers have a tendency to develop exhaust leaks where they meet the head. A thicker flange is supposed to help keep that from happening.

Headman Hedders are great.
The main reason for warped flanges at the head and the collector is from overtightening fasteners. Use quality gaskets and don't overtighten and you will have many miles of no leaks. Also, if the truck they are going into is lowered more than about 5", long tubes will not work. Then you will be stuck with shorties or a 3/4 length header like what Sanderson makes. Gary

Doug Thorley makes some of the best headers IMO for our era trucks

I just installed Hedman Hedders PN 69016 on my truck and they fit perfect. No issues at all. I had to get longer bolts because the flanges are pretty thick. These headers will clear a stock starter.
I have a 1968 2wd frame and a Chevy 350 with stock style heads and auto trans. My truck is lowered and the length of these hedders allow the 3" exhaust to be tucked up close to the cab floor.
