Im putting a steering gear from a 76 half ton to my 67. Now I know I have to notch the bumper bracket but have any of you had to notch the rad support mount bracket also?

Re: adding a steering gear
I had to trim a little bit. Maybe a 1/4" or so. I can take a pic if it helps.

Re: adding a steering gear
Now on the 67 there is a bump that is missing that the box will rest against that needs to be added with the use of a rather large hammer. Looking where the three box bolts go, you should see where the "bump" should be added when starting the mounting of the newer box. It is nothing to be concerned about the newer ones all had it and tons upon tons of 67 people have done this little operation so it shouldn't be to hard to do. Jim

Re: adding a steering gear
Right the dent in the frames been done. But the top of the box hits the dang radiator supprt mount. It didnt hit my other 67 so I thought this odd.
Yeah if you could take a pic thanks

Re: adding a steering gear
I took more off than I remember, but after looking at it I recall deciding it would be easier to cut a notch versus trying to trim it.
