Lowering My 1972 C10
I have a 72 C10 and I'm looking at lowering my truck. I've done some reading and was wondering if I should go to a 2.5 or 3 in drop spindle? Not sure if I'll have to do any grinding with a 3 in drop. I would love to do the 3 personally and plan on doing springs later as well but I'm not too happy with grinding anything down unless its minor. Also on the rear end, how low until you have to notch the frame?
I'm running 15x10's now, but have a pair of 15x8's (fronts) I can put tires on if need be. I'm all for function and the lower I can go with the spindle the best IMO. **NOTE: I plan on looking into upgrading my current stock disk brakes in the future. |

My suggestion would be do the front springs and spindles at the same time. 1. You're already there. 2. There is more of a chance of tearing ball joint cups by doing the same job twice. IMO 2 1/2 drop spindles are best. Typically you can drop the rear 4-5 inches before you need notches, you still will need the adjustable pan hard bar though.

I think you're right tho about the 2.5. I might be getting my hands on a 70 suburban too so if it isn't low enough I can put it on that instead. My goal with the truck is to be a road/track truck. If I'm comfortable with the suspension then I might auto cross it as well. That being said... I'm trying to get the max out of my spindles first as a good foundation. Any particular brand? I've been looking at Hotchkis |

I like ccp spindles, but I'm not racing mine. Hotchkis is a good touring/road course company, but over priced IMO.

I've only heard about CCP yesterday reading some threads. I met the Kentucky guys at Cruising the Coast, But never even saw feedback on their equipment. From what I've been reading, LMC doesn't have the greatest stuff out there.

Also found these 2 inch block drops for the rear end from Kentucky Classics. Wondering if anyone uses these: http://sokyclassics.com/product.php?skcid=1002256
