Re: What started it all...

Seems like phantom grills were the style back in the day. My brother in law had one in his s10 in the 90s

From what I have found on the net about it yes these are the orignal pics and the after it was sold pics and wreck pictures. I plan to try and do some more to night and see if I can find anything else on it.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: What started it all...

I remember the truck very well, also got me started. Sad it was wrecked, but it's day had definitely come and gone. Would have been nice if it remained just like the magazine for nostalgia sake. I've seen many trucks with a similar paint scheme, and even a couple that didn't know where they got the idea it just "looked cool". That's influence!

I am not "confirming" here, but... If I remember... that is exactly how the rear suspension and exhaust was in the original Traders Truck. So, if its not the original Traders Truck, they copied the suspension and exhaust. But that detail alone tells me it is the truck.

Cool Re: What started it all...

Guy's Chevy got me to buy mine but the truck in ? got me to modifing mine. It was a plain Jane when I bought it back in 1986. Now it's modified how I wanted it to be. Old school look with modern drive train. The article was in fact in Truckin' mag. What issue I have no idea. I have it some where though.

Thanks I did it my way! Back when the traders truck was built there were very few of us. After this truck hit the magazines and show's around the country our trucks really pick up in popularity.
