Re: Project '33
Thanks Jim... this one's been kinda slow. He has a 31 Chevy sedan waiting patiently for it's turn as well.

Re: Project '33
I'm glad I found this thread! Hopefully next month I'll be picking up a 34 1.5 ton and was wondering what parts I would need to make it safer and road worthy. The wheelbase on this one is perfect and the 18's look great! I was going to just build a flatbed but now I know what to do for a bed. The guy I got my 66 from has around 30 47-57 trucks he parts out so I'm sure I can find a bed for it.

Re: Project '33
Thanks, this one's been a learning experience for me. Mostly I keep it late 40's to 60's. But it's turning out pretty nice. We removed 20" from the frame, and the suspension is a mix of 53 3/4 ton front axle and 53 1 ton rear. You want to use 53 and later, because that's the first year for bendix style brakes. Any questions on specifics, feel free to pm me.

Re: Project '33
'33 needed a head gasket. Pronounced healthy once again! Also started working a floor pan for the old girl. Also got the bed mounted, and working on how the rear fenders are going to look. Chris scored a set of 31 sedan fenders and running boards that I think we are going to modify to fit the truck.
Steel, it's the new wood!

Re: Project '33
couple of quick updates. Floor and interior are complete. Wiring is done. Seats are back at the upholstery shop for final stitching. Made some new tabs so the tailgate chains actually have something to go through. Looking like he's going to be put-putting home in this thing in the next few weeks!
