Post What's it worth?

My friend has a 68 C10, swb, 396/TH400, air, tach that is solid with a straight body and only surface rust ( the paint is peeling) but no rust through spots.

Everthing is there except the orginal engine ( no engine now) and a couple of chrome trims just behind the rear wheel openings. The interior is in good shape too.

Interestingly, it has 396 engine ID emblems with flags mounted just below the front side markers. I know that in 69 GM started putting engine ID emblems that were rectangular and said 8/396. They look factory installed or dealer installed and the previous owner said they have always been there.

I would like to know how much this truck is worth right now. Also does any one know how to find out how many like this were produced?

Thanks

In my area with an air cab and no engine, your looking at about $700-800, provided the body is straight and the interior is nice, if dented and rough interior, maybe $400, I found a 72 K-10 with no engine, missing alot of interior(dash pad, glovebox door, door panels, etc). The guy was asking $1500 and said he was planning on a quick sell LMAO, All the rust had been repaired, decent job, if a person was planning to put the cheyenne moulding on it, because the cab corners were very rough where he welded them in at the body line. Rocker panels were nice though. I offered $700 and he said he had a guy that would give $1200. I told him I'd be back in a couple months, and it's still there, on a car lot next to a busy highway in a fairly big town. That was 1 month ago, I'm getting kinda itchy, but I'll wait.
