power steering problem

hello Guys, I need some advice. I just got my engine fired up for the first time (ls1 swap) and im having a weird problem with the steering. as soon as the engine starts the steering wheel turns to the left until it locks up, if I try to turn it, it fights me. now with the engine off it turns no problem.
any advice?

heres the setup
stock gear box and ls1 ps pump.
pressure side of the pump is connected to the large fitting, closest to the frame. no hydro boost either.

Re: power steering problem

I am sure that is where mine is located on my 78, front and near the frame for the high pressure side.
My LS is a 5.3 with the truck 2003 PS pump and the steering feels very light. I did the shim trick on the piston in the pump but it did NOT change anything, still feels too light.

I have reversed lines on a rack and pinion and it wants to "hurt you" !!
