What to do with my exhaust

I am not a fan of the way the previous owner did the exhaust on this truck. We are also eventually going to put a receiver hitch on the back.So I was thinking two options.
1. Will the pipes as the are routed now fit with the hitch? If so I would maybe just get the pipes shortened and have a couple of turndowns installed just shy of the bumper so you can't see the exhaust , or maybe just the very bottom of the pipe.
2. Re-route the exhaust out the side to account for the hitch.

I don't really want to waste money at the exhaust shop - so would like to hear people's thoughts.

Thanks

Derek.-

Re: What to do with my exhaust

This was a "Do every vehicle kit" by Reese. It has had zero problems towing my 19 ft Bay Boat. IIRC, I had to drill one hole on each side. It comes out just under and past my step bumper.

It looks like that rear hanger for your exhaust might be in the way, but it's hard to tell from just pictures. I can get some measurements or more pics if you'd like.

Re: What to do with my exhaust

I think you'll be ok, I personally like the exhaust coming out where you've got yours but I do understand what your talking about. I'm hoping to have 2 1/2 chrome tips sticking out right there somewhere on mine 1 of these days, but I won't be pulling anything either. Your idea of cutting them short and turn downs would work fine if needed.
