Porterbuilt dropmember & stock control arm problems

Finally got around to installing my dropmember ran into some problems the truck is a 64 gmc I pulled factory crossmember installed Porterbuilt and had factory arms off of a 76 c10 I rebuild arms and installed new joints my upper which is a k6136 joint when I got it all installed my spindle hit the upper control arm the spindles are also new they are cpp cp4s4 spindles the 64 arms seem to work with the new k6136 joint but I hate to rebuild them since I've already rebuilt the 76 set please help

I'm thinking you have the upper control arms on the wrong side. You might want to verify that the lowers are on the correct side as well.

That's what I thought too so I swapped that arm to the drivers side and it looks even worse I'll try to get a pic of that arm on the drivers side tonight I know the lowers are right because the shock tabs goes towards the rear

Not backwards.
You can see the sway bar bracket holes in the front of the a-arm.
Upper ball joint is directly in line with the "front" upper a-arm mounting hole.

The CPP spindles are "casting heavy".
There is another thread on grinding CPP spindles to get rid of excess casting material.
But you might have to trim on your upper a-arm also.

The lowers are correct I think he ment the uppers are on the wrong side Dave at Porterbuilt said it's possibly a ball joint issue but I can't find a part number for any different joint everything goes back to the k6136

The uppers look correct to me.
(like I said,... Balljoint in line with the front hole of the a-arm)

cpp cp4s4 spindles are definitely a 73-87 spindle.

EDIT:
K6136 is a good 73-87 Moog number.

Yea lolife99 your right the upper and lowers are from a 76 c10 I had so I got spindles and ball joints for the 76 you mentioned a thread on grinding spindles I searched for that thread but no luck if somebody had a link to that it would be great maybe I can get it figured and fixed

Just to make sure I'm right the slot where the brake hose mount goes that slot should be to the front of the truck correct?
