Re: What year is your truck?
They have vintage dealer parts books that come up from time to time on ebay....butthey normally fetch well over $100 each.
I try and use original parts wherever possible. If I have a bad fender for example and I know they are the same from 60-66, I don't mind using an off year of the make. Its still an original fender. May not be a 63 part, but will do the job and better than a foreign reproduction part. Some parts we have to reproductions on. Sometimes a reproduction is the answer until a good original part can be found. I also keep track of what year parts I use on various projects....normally its for my own reference, but if I were to see a truck, the next owner would know where to pick up pieces that I left off at. I also visit different areas of the board for different issues. Alot of the 63-72 frame parts are the same so if I can't source a 60-66 part, I go to the 67-72 board and start there. This board has so many good areas to view, engines & driveline, electrical...etc. There is a forum for just about every topic or question and don't forget to use the search engines here and the FAQ's sections are a must read.
