Need some input on build
Hello everyone.
I have a project on this site. I need some input in to doing a paint job on my (Frankenstine) build. I found some sand paint that matches the old color close. I have put a bkl strip around the cab to break the top from the bottom. I have out a bare metal paint on the cab roof. Pic included. This is just my thought on the paint. Not sure what color to do the inside yet. So any input will be helpful. T-P Auto Tim |

That might look pretty good.
Exactly what kind of paint is your "bare metal" paint for the cab roof? |

Re: Need some input on build
I've seen some with that belt line painted a third color to separate the top color from the bottom color and I've seen several that had the whole truck painted a solid color like that "sand" and had the belt line painted a different color. Maybe a medium/dark brown rather than the black with the top painted the sand.
To me the whole thing behind "bare metal" should be taking your rig to one big show in bare metal to show of your superior body work with no pookie spread on it so every one in the world knows what a great job you did and then take it back to the shop and finish it and paint it.

Re: Need some input on build
mr48chevy;
Hello; I was just trying out some different ideals. I DO NOT like the bare metal look at all. I have a red seats n center console as of how. I think I'll go with the sand cab n try a different brake strip. I was thinking about keeping the bed just as is with a clear coat on? ? I'm down to the brake lines,fuel lines,tranny lines. Going to build a removerable radiator surport for now. Once I get the grille n radiator that I want ,I'll change it out. Have NOT started the engine yet! Getting some type of exhaust under cab first. Even if just stright pipes for now. Need to be able to set the valves with the engine running(OlD SCHOOL) ! ! Here are a few pic taken today when it was outside,so I could clean the shop again. Thanks for the input on the cab. T-P Auto Tim |
