Directly above this section is a sub-section w/'stickies' that contains frequently asked questions. The last of the 8 topics listed is drum to disc conversions.... http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=444823 That should provide some insight. For the rear you'll need some aftermarket replacement axles & 71-72 drums (using new parts to convert) or swap a 5-lug rear into place (wrecking yard swap candidates are 71-87's) but they will be 1.5" wider over-all. Another option is to have your 47yr old axles re-drilled to the 5x5 pattern.

Re: 67 c10 5 Lug Swap ? Ive Searched
Here is a basic list from the junk yard:
73-87 Spindles, get the ones that used the 1.25" thick rotor For brakes, I would buy new parts: Wheel Bearings, Inner & Outer Rotor, 1.25" thick Caliper Pads Hoses Outer Tie Rods Upper Ball Joints Lower Ball Joints Tie Rod adapter Sleeves: '67 inners are 5/8"-18 threads, '73-'87 outers are 11/16"-18 threads. These can be found at a number of companies, CPP, ECE, Performance Online: Here is one of the sleeves: http://www.hotchkis.net/tie-rod-sleeves-58-1116.html. I know that is the high dollar one, but I could not find a link to the others in my quick search.

You definitely use 73-87 OUTER tie rods to connect to the 73-87 spindle. These tie rods are RH thread. Here's the problem,... 63-70 INNER tie rods are ALSO RH thread. So you have to use a 63-70 Outer tie rod moved to the inner location to get a LH thread. Plus the conversion tie rods are a $50 purchase. Use of 63-70 conversion spindles allows you to replace all your steering parts with the correct truck year parts. (63-70)

Everything needs to match the year of spindle that you use. That's the key to doing these swaps.

You can use 73-87 or 71-72 a-arms. Balljoints and tie rods need to match the spindle.

I feel like what I am saying is not understood. The draglink and the spindles can be re-used. All the other parts need to be purchased new. Steering and braking are a HUGE safety issue. If you are going to take the time and effort to disassemble your truck,... put NEW reliable parts back on. If you can't afford it,... wait until you can. This is the last time I will post in this thread.
