Carburetor setup. What am missing?

Just rebuild a Rochester Monojet pulled off of my '69 C30. Pretty sure the PO had this baby rigged someway and what im not sure of is if im missing any cables/springs. I have a spring with 2 hooks on each end that i cant remember how it was installed. Also there was a thin wire hooked to the choke valve that ran into the cab and tied around the AC controls. Have no idea why.

Thanks for all your great input fellas!

Re: Carburetor setup. What am missing?

The springs are throttle return springs and get hooked up so they hold the butterflies closed. The other should be the manual choke cable, but should go to a push/pull knob.

I only have 1 spring and as i said cant remember how it hooked up. By "other" do you mean the thin wire that goes into the cab (pic 4)? Not sure this truck had a manual choke knob or where that would be located.

Re: Carburetor setup. What am missing?

It looks like the spring should go on the rear of your carb from the bracket top (big hole on the angled piece) to the big hole on the carb linkage towards the driver's side. The choke cable (you need to buy one if it's not in tact) needs a bracket near the choke linkage to hold the outside of the choke cable and another piece to attach the actual cable to the choke linkage. I don't have a pic as I'm going by memory from long, long ago, but I'm sure someone will have one.

Sometimes you can move it around to different holes to get the right pedal feel. I would stop by a parts store and get a double spring set up. I lost a spring on a 63 I had and almost stacked it up. That was when I realized why the new stuff has doubles! Good luck,

Jeff

Re: Carburetor setup. What am missing?

Thanks LockDoc that helps but I dont have those holes for the spring to attach to my throttle linkage/bracket. Any ideas where it attaches? Heres a couple more photos.

Re: Carburetor setup. What am missing?

I think it goes on that sheet metal bracket that 45s off the back of your carb. There are a bunch of configurations, but in the end it must pull your linkage back to idle from any throttle position.
