Anodized Gold Interior Trim ?

Bought my 1983 GMC Sierra Classic from the original owner's estate late last year. It came with the paperwork he ordered it with. Anyway, it is a 2500 crew cab Sierra Classic. It has brushed aluminum interior trim...instrument bezel, door trim molding, etc.

When I look in Classic Industries catalog for a replacement instrument bezel it only shows an anodized gold one??? Is that correct for my truck? Seems unlikely as all of the existing trim is brushed aluminum. I doubt anyone would change it all out.

So what trucks should have brushed aluminum and what trucks should have anodized gold?

As always thanks for all useful information. This site has been a big help in working on my 83 GMC and my 72 Cheyenne Super!

Re: Anodized Gold Interior Trim ?

Anodized gold was never used, I'm not sure where they got that.

Here is what I am looking at.

They call it brushed gold/bronze (not anodized gold). So this was never used in square bodies from the factory?

Re: Anodized Gold Interior Trim ?

I don't believe that gold/bronze was ever used. I have looked at a lot of these and have only seen silver. But I have seen that Silverado horn buttons from the early 1980's are very silver. The later in the 1980's you go, the horn buttons are more gold/bronze than silver. If you put an early one right next to a later one the color difference is very noticeable.
