HELLO ALL, IM NEW TO THIS FORUM, AND AM IN THE PROCESS OF BUYING A 1972 CHEVY 3/4 TON 4x4 THIS WEEKEND. ALL PICTURES AND INFO THE GENTLEMAN IS GIVING ME STATES THAT THE TRUCK IS A CHEYENNE SUPER. IS THER ANY WAY VIA THE VIN TO TELL THAT THE TRUCK IS INDEED A CHEYEENE SUPER? ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT. ALSO ANY OTHER DETAILS THAT I SHOULD PAY ATTENTION TO PRIOR TO HANDING OVER THE CASH, THINGS TO LOOK FOR ETC... WANT TO COVER MY BUTT AS MUCH AS POSSBLE. ANY AND ALL HELP WOULD BE GREAT. look at the spid , applied on inside of glove box door if it hasent been tore out , it will have all options and it will list as one option the ye9- Cheyenne super package it will also list your other options tire size , engine , trim codes, etc poet some pics , we all like pictures

There is an option sticker inside the glovebox door that will say Cheyenne super equipment. Make sure the vin on that sticker matches the vin in the door jam. The vin should start with cke for a 72 4wd. There's no way to tell from vin if its a super or not. If you post the pictures here we will be able to help you determine the originality. Should have woodgrain glove box and dash bezel. Chrome around windows. Woodgrain lower trim. Lots of tell tale signs. But in the end, someone that knew these trucks could easily fake a Cheyenne super as there is no concrete way to prove it besides a build sheet or the globrbox sticker(which can be reproduced)
