kinda wierd
so i hooked up my electric fans last night, they work awesome!!! they really suck!!! haha...but i called the guy that did my harness and he told me the red wire off the harness goes straight to the battery, well i think he was mistaken because when i hooked it up the low fan came on, so i hooked it up to a wire that comes on when the key turns on, well in doing so now when i turn the truck off it runs for about 2 or 3 seconds after i turn the key off....anyone ever see this? (i mean I've seen it on older engines when the timings off) but not on one of these

Re: kinda wierd
That happens!
Place a diod(SP) in the circuit or a relay, that should do the trick!

Re: kinda wierd
The circuit that is feeding the fan, someone will draw you a pic, I am not able to draw!
Your fan is creating a back feed or generating current until it slows down

Re: kinda wierd
This time of year I think they will both be working, there is a way to have them come on at different temps, but that will involve some homework!

Re: kinda wierd
thats how they are working right now, the low fan comes on when i start it, then the high fan will come on after it warms up, then when fully warmed up at some point they will both kick on, then just the high fan, i think they are working correctly

Re: kinda wierd
I am not a wiring guru....my fans are not hooked to computer. I run a painless relay, & power 2 -14" fans, That are mounted to a steel shelf. They worked on my 383, & still work on my 5.3? Wax on 205/Wax off 195? If you don't have the relay, or diode, I agree, you have power feed, until the alternator stops charging? Longhorn
