Set The Longhorn Bed On The C-30 Dually Today

-
I picked up a Longhorn bed from Ryan (Dieselwrencher) yesterday and I needed to get it off of my trailer, so I went ahead and set it on the ’67 C-30. I wasn’t quite ready for it but I didn’t want to put it on the ground. I fits really good and looks like it belongs on there. I have wanted to do this ever since I saw 72freaks conversion a few years ago. I have a couple of other projects to finish before I can get serious about working on this one though.

That looks so cool! I have been wanting to do that to my '70 GMC one ton for a long time. Are you going to put the stepside fenders on it or leave it like that? I like it. Keep us updated on your progress. Thanks.

Thanks.

No fenders on this one The tires just barely stick out. I do have to widen the inner wheel tubs to clear the inside duals though....

That's a nice looking bed Leon. I have wanted a Longhorn ever since I seen Ryan's at the truck nationals.

Thanks Scott. It's a pretty nice bed for Iowa. I think it has been rebuilt at some point in it's life....

Do away with the dually and put a super single under it.

The Longhorn bed is 8' 6" long. If you look close you can see the seam back about 6" from the front of the bed. They fit the C-30 133" wheel base chassis without any modification.

You did an amazing job on that bed. I doubt mine will ever look that nice but I plan on hauling a lot of stuff with mine... Sometimes I'm not too nice to my trucks...

JEC, nice Longhorn! Did you convert it to four wheel drive, or was it done before you got the truck?

Too bad the cab isn't in better shape, I wouldn't even have to paint it....

Re: Set The Longhorn Bed On The C-30 Dually Today

Hey dieselwrencher,

It was done but I did have to clean-up some shoddy workmanship on the shackle holes. See post titled "4x4 conversion" below.

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=633837

I posted some comments and a picture on that thread.
