Drive shaft center support

I picked up a new drive shaft center support this morning on the way to work at it couldn't wait until after work to be replaced.

This part doesn't seem very well designed with the tack welds. I believe that's were it came apart. I plan to weld the one more thoroughly before replacing.

Anyone else's break?

A little too late...it got installed last night. He did weld the edges instead of just relying on the tack points. That should help.

It sounds like you are talking about more than just the flange. Care to elaborate on what made the cast one so much better?

I gave up on those a long time ago. I went with the good ones. No more tack welded sheet metal bracing.
