Fan shroud questions.

What's happening out there in Square Land? I'm curious about something... Why is it that a fan shroud for a '75 1/2 ton with a sbc is damn near impossible to find? Nobody (that I know of) re-pops them and I have been unsuccessful trying to locate a good used one. What's so different about a '75 versus '73-'74 and '76-'80?

I bought a two-piece sbc shroud and upper bracket from a late 70's c10 and the shroud was almost an inch too tall?? I trimmed as much as I could off of the bottom (about a half inch) but then it was bottoming out on the chassis. The bolt holes for the upper shroud were still over a half inch higher than those for the bracket. Dafuq? Am I using incompatible parts?

Here's the upper bracket:

Thanks in advance!

Bob

PS. Here's a pic of my '75 GMC with my Dad's '54 Chevy, just for fun Thanks for looking!

Re: Fan shroud questions.

Looks like my 79 one honestly. I WILL SAY my 77 350 was a 1 piece but it was a big block radiator. Maybe u have 1 from a big block?

Yeah, that could be. I hadn't considered it... Hmmm. Thanks for the input!

Re: Fan shroud questions.

250,292, and 454 used one shrouds. All other used a two piece. Did the truck come with a different engine? All the trucks I've seen have a full top mounted bracket over the radiator support. Yours seems to not have a shroud mounted from the factory!! Strange.

Re: Fan shroud questions.

The original fan shroud on my 75 1/2 ton sbc is a one piece.

Re: Fan shroud questions.

The truck originally had a 250 in it. The factory bracket that held the radiator in place was a partial shroud.
