you should see the P.O.S. I bought tonight....
72 Cheyenne LWB...I don't think there is a dent free panel on it and the rust....you would think it's from the salt belt...here's the part I bought it for ...
disc brakes... the coil sprung rear... has a factory th400 positraction rearend (i wonder what ratio?) has a 350 (supposedly runs) if I put the carb back on? doubt it.. 95% of the A/C stuff and a clear title all for the whopping drag off price of $150.00 I'll post pics saturday after I go look at it in the day light... |

factory th400? was it an original BB truck with a SB in it now? I didn't think the th400 came behind the 350 any more.
but still, sweet score!

Espically in a 72 ive seen some 69s that had the 400 with a sb but never a 72 maybe someone ordered it heavy duty? Just pop the cover off the rearend and the ratio will be on the gear you will have to take a calculator and figure it up but there will be some numbers like this
41:11 wich would be 3/73 theres some part numbers then it says gm then those two numbers seperated by a : Just take a calculator Unless your a math whiz and put the larger number in divided by the smaller number Last edited by 1972C10; 01-10-2004 at 05:29 AM. |

I'll post a pic of the options sticker later...
the tranny code was 1M4910 or something like that and the options didnt list what ratio..just 1G8010 positraction axle but it definitely said 350 v8 Last edited by Suicide-D; 01-10-2004 at 02:17 PM. |

I'm thinkin' the hood has been swapped too. I'm no expert, but I don't think '72's have the bowtie on the front.

Maybe it got crashed and 69 or 70 parts were available and usable so they just slapped 'em on.

I was thinking crash myself... I'll know more when I get into the dis-assembly...the a/c condensor doesn't look factory to me... I went to look at it in the dark last night...and I was thinking this is no 72 as soon as I saw the grill. I wouldn't of bought it if it was a pre 71... I'm after the frame to put under my 70

Christine's cousin
I think I bought her.... well this am the F@rd diesel that was destined to pull the truck to her site of dis-assembly was mysteriously filled with water at the gas station...after my buddy got all the water out and got the truck running he drove 45 miles to get my truck and we proceeded to load her on the trailer and SNAP!!!! the trailer tongue breaks on the trailer. So she sits until tommorrow... Wrecker will haul her in the morning... let's see what goes wrong now? Wish me luck... or different luck atleast
