seam to be losing AIR

just fixed the air door that little plastic piece breaks on. Well I fixed it with a little piece of metal bracket and it opens and closes now. Still dont get much air through the vents after putting the all the vents back. and barely get any air through the defroster vents...... come out strong through the flor vent though

Re: seam to be losing AIR

Ok I got something that is messed up. I did notice that (truck running) I put it on MAX AC and the vent on the passenger kick panel opened up. I figured MAX would be all inside air..... I think the PO messed something up when the heater core was changed. I have not had it out at all

Re: seam to be losing AIR

yes the pass vent opens up, and the one in the cowl by the pass wiper closes, so it recirculates the air.

Re: seam to be losing AIR

for that matter, why would the kick panel open at all with the AC ON in either position. that lets in outside AIR that is not circulated across the condenser

Re: seam to be losing AIR

It pulls the cooled air across the evaporator coil (behind the dash). The kick panel vent is only open at the top. When the upper flap closes, the blower motor recirculates the inside air.

You might want to pull the ducting and reseal it. That might help out as well.

Re: seam to be losing AIR

I think I'm going to pull the whole thing. See if the all the actuators are working. Can't get much air through the defroster vents.... Might be backwards.... Knowing the previous stuff I have had to straighten out

Re: seam to be losing AIR

the kick panel vent opens so the fan can pull the air from the cab back thru on max, at the same time, the cowl vent thats normally open, so you get fresh air, closes so all you get is recirculating air.

Re: seam to be losing AIR

Something else,
The actuator floor/defrost has three holes.
I use the middle, all up or down.
But some are made to leave some up or down all the time.

Re: seam to be losing AIR

Crew cab , that makes sense.....

Motor nut , I get VERY LITTLE air through the defroster duct when on DEFROST.... I get a lot of air on the floor when on heat....
