Floor shifter location

Million questions....
So I'm picking up a used 292 and 4 speed granny trans on Monday PO says it was in his '67. My truck came with out a motor and trans but had been converted to floor shift from column. As you can see in the pics the location of my shifter isn't where I'd expect it to be and I'd really like to have a stock long shift like the one in the other photo.
Can someone please give me a little insight on this? Thanks.

Looks like your truck is low hump and you will need a high hump for that trans. when you swap to the high hump it should still have the hole in it.

That's a "low hump" trans tunnel; you can see in the second picture that the floor is different on trucks with a 4 speed SM420.

(I actually remember someone on here that had a truck with an SM420 or SM465 (later version that you have) that was installed in a low hump truck somehow, but don't remember the thread off the top of my head.)

guessing that I can simply cut out a section large enough to accommodate the the trans while I search for a proper high hump cover...
