Help me identify these things....

In the first two attachments I cannot determine what this plug is for...it is "T'd" off the brake booster vacuum but there is nothing connected to the plug.

In these two pictures there appears to be a vacuum hose from the firewall that is suppose to be plugged into the round device (not sure what the device is) that no longer reaches...thoughts?

On top of the Vapor Canister the cap appears to have once had a 3rd plug, is this true? Is it necessary?

Sorry for the massive request however I am trying to confirm I do not have a vacuum leak that might be causing a weak/lack of idling.

The vacumm hose coming out of the fire wall. There should be three total. One goes to the washer jug and the other two go to the sprayers under the windshield. All three run into the cab to the washer motor / pump.

Those hoses are shown in the 2nd picture.

The other hoses are on the passenger side and they are for the heating - A/C

One goes to the vacuum reservoir (that block ball) the other to the heater control valve and the other to the fresh vacuum motor (I think)

The small black thing is a vacuum check valve. And the other is some type of vacuum solenoid. I'm not familiar with them as they could be part of the TSC emission thing on '72 models or part of the broken purge valve on your charcoal canister. I'm not sure . That stuff was removed from my truck.

Does your trans have any electrical wires on drivers side connecting just above pan???

Pic. 3 I'm thinking hose does possible hook up to pic 4 (which is a vacuum reservoir, needed for heater control stuff). My 68 washer hoses come out of dash on drivers side through a round grommet, w/ 3 holes in it...if I remember...

Pic 5 Do you need to have vapor canister functional, where you live??? If not, plug off sources that connected to that vapor canister. I don't know if a 3rd hoe is needed on vapor canister, I've seen some that look like yours, looks like a B-B was shoved in hole...

If your are chasing a vacuum leak, plug ALL the hoses that are connected to the engine, see if that helps. If it does, you can reconnect them one at a time to find out the leak.

You rubber hoses look like they need some TLC, you'll get it done!!!

To find a vacuum leak I like to spray a little starter fluid at potential spots, you will hear the difference. Works for me.
