Hi all,

I've got almost all the way done on a tach install that should've taken about half an hour... I am curious how I go about putting the tach signal wire (green wire) into the "tach" port on the distributor... Also, how would I be able to reach the distributor without drilling a hole in my firewall? I wanted this to be easier than it is proving to be...

Find an existing rubber grommet going through the firewall, and sneak it in through there.

Could run it into the wire harness.
I put an extra wire in mine for choke and tach.

I would, but there is no wire running out of the "tach" port in the dizzy cap. Therefor, I have no way of "splicing into" a harness to get a signal... Do I go and buy the plug head for it, and run the wire directly into that? This shouldn't have taken me more than an hour to set up...

I used a female spade connector to connect mine to the distributor.

A stock hei tach spot takes a crimp/solder on connection.
I used a couple of stock wires from my 87 harness,fit right in empty spot.
And then add to that behind the fuse box.
